With the ability to take up to 500 high definition images of a single piece of fruit as it passes through the machine at a rate of 12 pieces of fruit a second, Spectrim detects the hardest to find, external blemishes on fruit, delivering unrivalled grading accuracy and consistency. The Spectrim cabinet has also been designed with the latest food hygiene standards in mind, using the latest materials and industrial design to enable ease of cleaning and ongoing maintenance.

Imaging : Spectrim is the industry’s most powerful imaging platform. It leverages all the knowledge from previous sorting systems and machine vision systems.Lighting: The key to effective fruit visualization is uniformity of lighting. Spectrim allows products to be lit in a way that minimizes shadows and reflections. This ensures consistency in production, critical for sorting.Sensors & Cameras: Spectrim’s sensors and cameras produce approximately 300 images of each product at the highest definition through a combination of superior lighting and high-quality optics. Spectrim uses multiple wavelengths when processing images. Each wavelength can be configured to detect defects. Software designed for usability : Spectrim not only contains a number of improvements such as SmartSkin and SmartMap, but also contains new and more powerful algorithms that create a much more accurate 3D model of each fruit . Using the high-quality images produced by the system and the increased computing power of Compac’s unique algorithms, Spectrim offers incredibly powerful grading performance and an operator-friendly system.
SmartSkin™ : SmartSkin aims to accuracy of detecting difficult defects such as black spots on an apple.SmartMap™ : With a simple interface Spectrim is able to learn to classify different types of defects. Using defect classification and machine learning functions, Spectrim identifies potential fruit defects for the operator to classify. This significantly reduces setup time for operators and improves the accuracy of defect classification.
